The project aims to foster the preservation and revitalization of Inuit culture and language skills for youth and their families living in the Ottawa area. A program that supports Inuit youth by providing them a place to call their own and learn from Elders in an urban setting.

The program provides opportunities to develop skills in culture and language, leadership, social and emotional development, life-skills, mental health, and employment readiness through programming and services that meet their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

“The one-one-one made me feel really good. I had someone to talk to, someone to support me and my growing mind.”

Makkuktukuvik Coordinator: Saelym Degrandpre, 613-746-5400, ext. 223
